Dear NSCS Families,

Thank you for your strong partnership and engagement throughout the year. The last weeks of school are filled with mixed emotions as we prepare for the end of the school year. It is such a joy to see the growth across all grade levels and the sense of pride the students have in all they have accomplished this year. Each student brings a unique perspective and personality to our student body.

Below you will find links to summer learning packets meant to encourage continued academic engagement. The goal of summer learning is to provide students with meaningful opportunities to apply their literacy and math skills while incorporating student choice. By engaging in academics over the summer, students keep the momentum of learning and are better prepared for the next school year.

Teachers will send home a packet specific to your child’s grade with instructions for completion. Students will engage in reading, writing, and math activities. To encourage consistent participation, students are asked to return the packet at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. Students entering grades 1-4 will receive a prize for completed work. For students entering grades 5-8, a portion of their homework grade for ELA and math for the first trimester will be based on completed summer learning assignments.

Please take a moment to review the expectations from your child’s teacher and reach out with any questions. I pray this summer allows for a change of pace and opportunities to grow closer to the Lord and closer as a family.

Thank you,

Liz Scottron
